11-Year-Old Mikaya Taylor Trailblazes for New Bluegrass Generations!

11 year old Mikaya Taylor is turning heads and making an impact with a lot of major influences in the Bluegrass Music Business.

She brings New Blood To Bluegrass with her pure voice. With only a little over a hand full of performances Mikaya has already recorded her first CD entitled Small Town Big Heart which was released in June of 2016.

She was honored to have some of the best musicians perform on it with her. Curt Chapman played Bass, Danny Barnes played Mandolin, Frank Kemper played Guitar and did harmony vocals, Kevin Chilton played Banjo.

A recent CD review stated “Mikaya didn't hold back , She tackled the high bar head on”.

“Blue Kentucky Girl” best known by EmmyLou Harris , Mikaya pulled it off. Then, with “Ashes of Love” she again proves that she is willing to measure up. Then with the Alison Krauss cover “When You Say Nothing At All” she adds her own inflection and again records a very listenable track. Then, she even goes after the Dolly Parton hit “Jolene” A bit faster tempo than the original but the feeling is there which makes this song such a big hit.

As a first release at such a young age Mikaya Taylor has no where to go but up. She has the drive, feel, and determination to evolve into a top bluegrass talent. Mikaya has the potential to go on to the national scene.

She has performed on WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour twice in less than a year as a WoodSongs Kid with Host Michael Johnathon. She performed the main stage of the prestigious Festival Of The Bluegrass, Poppy Mountain Festival, and several other's , got to do a song with the Grascals. Mikaya has the ability to control the pitch and tone of her voice that is quite rare in someone her age. Keep Mikaya Taylor's name in the front of your mind.
