S’More Bluegrass–Who’d a Thunk It?

There is nothing new about marshmellows and chocolate sandwiched between two Graham Crackers. And there is nothing new about bluegrass music.  But put the two together and you may just have an unbeatable combination.  Leave it to the creative mind of Valerie Smith to thunk it up!

If you like bluegrass music, homemade S’mores with marshmallows toasted over an open fire, holiday shopping and authentic Tennessee barbecue, make plans now to attend the first annual S’More Bluegrass Festival in historic Bell Buckle, TN

Proceeds from ticket sales and concessions at the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall will go to benefit Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, from 1-8 p.m.

Hosted by award-winning bluegrass artist, Valerie Smith and her band, Liberty Pike, the line-up will also include new Pinecastle Records artist Ray Cardwell & Tennessee Moon; Deanie Richardson, Tina Adair and Beth Lawrence from Sister Sadie; banjo master Mike Scott; The Dixie Trio—featuring Annette Kelley, Melissa Lawrence Buck and Nancy Cardwell performing music from the repertoire of Miss Dixie Hall; The Scott Partridge Band; Dulcimer Dance, a mother/daughter flute  and  hammered dulcimer duo; and more.

Local Girl Scout troops will host craft tables for children inside the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall from 1-5 p.m., and a Girl Scout S’more fun patch will be available for purchase.

Bring the whole family for an enjoyable, fun-filled autumn day in the country—with live bluegrass music, barbecue concessions, open air fire pits for roasting S’mores, antiquing, and some early holiday shopping. Don’t forget to check out the ice cream, Moon Pie sundaes and home made fudge at Bell Buckle’s famous soda shop, along with one-of-a-kind gift, restored furniture and antique shops.  

Advance tickets are available now at the Bell Buckle Café in Bell Buckle, TN, and also at the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Service Center at 506 Hillsboro Blvd, Ste 103, Manchester, Tenn. The S’More Bluegrass Festival is sponsored by 93.9-FM WDUC “The Duck” which will host four live remotes from Bell Buckle during the event, The Bell Buckle Café, The Bell Buckle Banquet Hall, The Bell Buckle Arts Council, and the Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce. Funds raised will help pay for Girl Scout memberships and uniforms for families in Middle Tennessee who need financial assistance.
