According to band member James Alan Shelton, "The surgery was a success and he is doing fine and hopes to be up and around in a few days".
As a result, the Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys show scheduled for Jan. 15 in Galax, Va. was canceled. Efforts were made to reschedule the show but no date could be found, according to Shelton.
