Rare Bird Alert, Martin's second full-scale bluegrass CD is bound to maintain if not surpass the success of his first effort, "The Crow" which nearly caused him to him to rent a U-Haul in order to carry away all the trophies and awards.
The Prescription Bluegrass REVIEW Copy arrived the other day and like it's predecessor amazes the owner with the jacket artwork and design long before the CD get's plopped into the tray for playback.
With guest artists ranging from Sir Paul McCartney, whom Martin says is a "close personal friend" even though the two have only met twice, to the award winning Female Country group The Dixie Chicks, Martin and his touring band The Steep Canyon Rangers have compiled a set of 13 songs - all written or co-written by Martin.
"It's very hard to believe, - I was a kid when I first heard Paul McCartney, and if you told me one day that he'd be singing one of my tunes, I'm still flabbergasted." - Steve MartinMcCartney gives voice to a track called "Best Love," which Martin describes as "a love song, but it has a little humor in it."
