ABOUT GRACIE
Our "Kentucky Girl" Gracie Muldoon, as she is known "on air", has presented a Bluegrass and country program on radio since 2000. Starting in public radio in Batavia (Cincinnati), Ohio, she quickly became a favorite, not only of the area Bluegrass and country fans, but the "hard rockers" of Cincinnati's Legendary rock station WEBN, were even tuning in to listen to her upbeat personality, on her Friday morning Bluegrass and Classic Country program.
Gracie's program proved to be an “alternative ritual” from their usual hard rock radio fare. Gracie admits that she's come to “crave” Bluegrass only in the last 10 years (she was an old rocker too, but raised in a Bluegrass Gospel home). The reason she turned back to Bluegrass, was, that she got more and more into "acoustic, pure" sounds. From the pop and rock 'n' roll sounds of the 60’s, 70's, went to old country music but now, Bluegrass is tops, although she still listens and likes other genres of music, particularly Blues and Reggae. Her father and mother, Rev. Carl Howard and Mary (Griffith) Howard, natives of Breathitt County, Kentucky, are the local pastors in their Newport, Kentucky congregation, the West 7th St First Church of God. Their congregational meetings began about 40 years ago in 1968m in the basement of their home, where, Gracie and her two sisters, Rosemary and Carlene, were always singing Bluegrass gospel harmonies, on piano with Dad on guitar, at home and in church. She well knows about the "feel" and "traditions" of true Bluegrass music, the love of which, comes from the “purist” side of the family, her dad and mom.
Gracie got into webcasting and found it to be exciting, challenging, stimulating and now has established a worldwide fan base of Bluegrass music lovers. Celebrity interviews are a large part of her Saturday night shows and she's talked with some of the best in Bluegrass. Recently, Miss Dixie Hall honored Gracie by awarding her with an “Honorary Daughter of Bluegrass” award – which she considers her biggest thrill, among the awards she’s received. She has "captured" some of the greatest talents in broadcasting to fill her live DJ spots as well, that makes the WWB the largest growing LIVE Bluegrass station on the internet! Be sure to tune into "Muldoon With The Blue Moon" on Saturdays to hear some of the best contemporary and traditional Bluegrass music and interviews with some of the biggest names and most exciting newcomers, in Bluegrass music. Don't miss a little, 'cause you'll miss a lot! The WWB – streaming Bluegrass for FREE!
