Phil Leadbetter "Uncle Phil" Benefit Now on Facebook

Friends and fans of Phil Leadbetter, resphonic guitar player with the Whites, can now check a dedicated Facebook page for information and updates on the first scheduled benefit to raise funds for Phil's upcoming medical expenses (See Story on Phil's Cancer Diagnosis)

Mike Kelly, a DJ at WDVX in Knoxville, TN is spearheading this benefit and writes:

PHIL LEADBETTER BENEFIT UPDATE: The lineup for the first "Uncle Phil Fund" benefit has been set. Join us Friday night, May 6, at Buddy's BBQ Banquet Hall in Knoxville for award winning bluegrass and BBQ. The lineup includes Brand New Strings, Blue Moon Rising, and Steve Gulley and Friends featuring 3 time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Dale Ann Bradley and special guests. Times and ticket prices TBA soon.

UPDATE:  Mike Kelly just updated us again today: Just finalized plans with the wonderful folks at Buddy's Bar-B-Q Banquet Hall. Doors open at 6pm with the buffet being served from 6:30pm until 8:00pm Tickets are $20 at the door. There will be items raffled off as well. Don't forget....there will be another benefit on June 4th at the Dumplin Valley Farm. I will be creating an event page for that one soon. Please keep Phil in your prayers as he under goes surgery to remove some lymph nodes in the morning.
