IBMA Converts to Electronic Voting

As announced last spring, balloting for the many stages of IBMA Board Elections, Hall of Fame Induction and IBMA Awards will all take place on-line this year. The International Bluegrass Music Association has partnered with eBallot for delivering ballots and elections.



Voting Members should check their emails beginning today to participate in a TEST BALLOT so that they may become familiar with the function and types of questions to answer.   This is a good practice session for those who find on-line forms and computer navigation challenging.

Voting security is provided by a special Username and Password assigned by IBMA.  The TEST  BALLOT allows the voter to click on a special DETAIL Link for each choice prior to decisions so that they can have more information.  In the case of a person, the detail link provides a window of text documenting that person's credentials for the award.  In the case of a song, the link provides an audio sample for familiarization.

eBallot provides an easily navigable process.  Decisions once made are easily changed with another click of the mouse if necessary.  Forward and backward arrows allow for easy page changing and review.  A final review is also provided just prior to submission and the final page shows the voter a confirmation that is printable.

Voting on-line will not only save time and money, it will make the process more efficient overall. As well as, offer voter benefits such as links, sound clips and candidate information that would be impossible to deliver by mail.

  **   The TEST BALLOT will open on May 5 and will close on May 10.  This is ONLY A TEST !  **

• IBMA Board Elections: Opens May 13
• IBMA Awards (First Ballot): Opens, May 20

Voters will be notified at the opening of each ballot in which they are eligible to vote.
