Steve Spurgin is an internationally known and respected singer/songwriter with an extensive background in American music styles, from folk to country to bluegrass. His list of musical credits and experience could fill more than one career. All this history has suddenly come together in a powerfully recorded collection of songs that will capture the attention and imagination of the Americana music scene.The acclaimed solo outing from bluegrass veteran and former Byron Berline & California member Spurgin, with a handpicked slate of all-star studio buddies: Dobro ace Rob Ickes, Swiss luminaries Uwe and Jens Kruger, mandolinist Adam Steffey and bassist Rusty Holloway. Steve has performed over much of the world both solo and as a member of various bands of renown such as the multi-award winning band “California” (with Byron Berline, Dan Crary, John Hickman and John Moore), “The Limeliters”, “Sawmill Road”, “Sundance” and others. He also has received multiple awards from IBMA and BMI, and is a “New Folk Winner” at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival.
His background includes several years as a Nashville staff writer for the Welk Music Group (which resulted in hit records for Gene Watson in the country music market) along with numerous cuts by a variety of roots oriented artists such as Red Steagall, Josh Williams, The Irish Descendants, Doyle Lawson and many more.
