We reported to you at the end of May about a repeat appearance at the White House for Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers. In Honor of the U.S. Independence Day Holiday in which Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers will make their
special appearance at the White House Martin wrote a new song for the occasion entitled: "
Me And Paul Revere." The song tells the tale from the horses perspective.
Prescription Bluegrass will broadcast the new song beginning with the next program that ships to affiliate radio stations on Friday, June 10th and airs between June 11th and June 17th.

We heard more details about the song from Rounder Records' Vice President of Promotions, Brad Paul.
Steve Martin wrote a new song for his upcoming performance on PBS’ annual 4th of July live concert special; A Capitol 4th . The song is the tale of Paul Revere’s ride as told by the trusty steed he rode that historic night. Steve joined forces with The Steep Canyon Rangers to record the song so we could make it available to you for airplay. Because the 4th of July is less than a month away, we don’t have time to manufacture a physical CD single but it is available for digital download via www.airplaydiect.com.
Continuing on the path of his new album with the Steep Canyon Rangers, Rare Bird Alert, Steve has crafted a wonderful story song that features the incredible musicianship we have come to expect from “Steve and the Steeps”.
Side note: One of the Rounder Founder’s, Bill Nowlin grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. For seven summers he had a job telling tourists the story of the beginning of the Americana Revolution. He confirms that Steve’s version of Mr. Revere’s fateful ride on the evening of April 18th 1775 are indeed factual.
