David Elliott, Elliott Family Farms, said “We desired to hire someone that had a lot of knowledge concerning bluegrass, and upon our searching we came upon John Lockaby. We believe he will be a great asset to our team here at Elliott Family Farms.”

Lockaby is a 20-year veteran of running bluegrass businesses including two start-up companies, National Bluegrass dot com and Deep River Management.

Lockaby has resigned his positions with National Bluegrass and Deep River Management to become the Operational Manager for the Five String Fest and the Clear Mountain View Festival, and will also take on duties of Artist Relations Manager for the Five String Fest.

This is one of the most exciting events and projects that I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of.” said Lockaby. “The farm is just north of Shelby, N.C., and upon walking on the farm, I knew we must have a festival to honor the great banjo players from this area, hence comes the name, Five String Fest.”   Lockaby also said that the slogan for the festival is “You gotta have a banjo in the band”.

The five string fest is currently booking bands for this inaugural event, and will be looking to hire a Sales Manager and a Vending Manager, as soon as possible. If you desire to have more information concerning these positions or information about the festival, please contact johnlockaby@gmail.com.
