Becky Buller Breaks Out On Her Own!

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE - BECKY BULLERAward-winning bluegrass fiddler, songwriter, and singer Becky Buller has announced she is currently booking dates for 2015 under a new four-piece band format. Buller will be fronting her own band with the finer details to be announced in the coming weeks.

I’ve got some fun stuff in the works, folks,” said Buller with her quintessential mischievous grin.  “I’ve enjoyed the music we’ve been making and am really excited about what’s coming up.  Keep those ears on!”

Buller who spent ten years as a part of Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike has been touring with Darin and Brooke Aldridge since 2013.

Buller has never had a light schedule, but her 2014 calendar has been especially eventful. The Minnesota-born Tennessean’s next solo album, ‘Tween Earth and Sky, will release this fall from Dark Shadow Recording. The album features singles “Nothing to You,” and the very special “Southern Flavor,” a 1988 Bill Monroe original, with past Blue Grass Boys: Blake Williams (banjo), Buddy Spicher (fiddle), Peter Rowan (guitar, vocals), Roland White (mandolin), Ernie Sykes (bass), and Michael Feagan (fiddle) playing as guest musicians. “Nothin’ To You,” the first single off ‘Tween Earth And Sky, is currently at number 19 on the BluegrassToday.com weekly chart and at #22 in the August issue of Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine. A pre-release of the full album will be available to those who hold iDitty download cards.  The full album will be available at shows, wherever you download music, as well as the Dark Shadow Recording website.

Buller will take center stage at Music City Roots in Franklin, TN, on August 13 when the 25th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards nominees will be announced, along with other bluegrass bands Balsam Range, Detour, and the Sam Bush Band. Tickets can be purchased at musiccityroots.com, and the show is live streamed for free on the same website. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. with the nominee announcements beginning at 4:45 p.m. with Jim Lauderdale and Sam Bush hosting.

Buller will play as an official Bluegrass Ramble Showcase artist at the 2014 World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC, September 30 through October 2, as well as playing fiddle with Darin and Brooke Aldridge, with whom she has played since 2013. Buller will also be in attendance at the IBMA Business Conference, and is currently taking meeting requests.

It’s exciting times in the land of the Bluegrass,” said Buller.  “Being in Raleigh has breathed new life into this event in a big, big way. What a buzz wading through the mass of people listening to bluegrass music there in downtown last fall! The last figure I heard was over 100,000 souls. Talk about outreach to potential new fans! If you’re a serious professional in this industry, you need to be at the World of Bluegrass Convention.  If you’re a fan, you really ought come out to support the Wide Open Bluegrass festival.”

Beyond being a touring musician, Buller is a mother, teacher, chair of the IBMA Songwriter Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors for the International Bluegrass Music Association.
