Turning Ground, based out of Salyersville, Ky, rooted deep in the hills of eastern Kentucky, have released their latest CD, CELL OF MINE. As was the case with their previous release last year, 11 of the 12 songs are originals.
Nathan Arnett handles the majority of the lead vocals, plays guitar, and penned 9 songs, including the single, "Cell Of Mine", while his brother Jonathon Arnett added two originals, plays mandolin, sings baritone and did lead vocals on Jess, a song he wrote for his wife. Ralph Adams sings tenor and handles the lead vocal on Sorrow In The End, Jonathon's other contribution to the project. Mike Daniels plays banjo and Chad Gilbert on bass round out the group.
The band added the Bill Anderson classic "When A Man Can't Get A Woman Off His Mind" to their live shows earlier in the year and decided to include it as well. Nathan and Ralph split the verses on the lead with this country classic and then, along with Jonathon, come together for some super smooth harmony on the chorus. It was an honor for the guys to cover this classic and were very happy that Bill Anderson gave his approval and commented that the harmonies were "Particularly Outstanding."
