The Roys Get Nod as Best New Talent of 2011!

Image634611946167960950Roughstock.com selected what they consider to be “the most noteworthy newcomers of 2011” in their Year-End Review “The Best New Talent in 2011”.

Image634611952037740950Previously a band that was working for mainstream success on their own Pedestal Records, The Roys joined Rural Rhythm Records to focus more on their roots in bluegrass and acoustic music and this has allowed the brother and sister duo of Roy and Elaine Roy to shine enough to not only have a massively successful album in the bluegrass world but also be signed on to have their own variety television show in 2012.

What to Watch in 2011

New Bluegrass Brother/Sister Duo "The Roys"
make the Roughstock Class of 2011"

Roughstock.com a website for "all things country" has announced their picks for "Up-and-Coming" talent to watch in 2011.

World of Bluegrass 2010

The Roy's (Lee & Elaine) who have just released their first single "Coal Minin' Man" and will soon release their first Bluegrass CD     (March 22, 2011), are the only bluegrass group to make the list.
What they're known for: New single "Coal Minin' Man."
Where They're From: Fitchburg, MA & Coral Branch, NB, Canada.
Why You Should Care: This talented brother and siter duo (Lee and Elaine) have been making beautiful acoustically based country music for years so when a label offer from Rural Rhythm Records came (asking them to record bluegrass), the duo didn't flinch.  It's as natural a 'transition' as any band can have as the duo's high-lonesome harmonies have always felt like they were heavily influenced by Bluegrass anyway.  Their debut bluegrass album Lonesome Whistle will be released March 22, 2011.
