Prescription Bluegrass Gives Listeners an Early Christmas Present – Thanks To Heather Berry!

Too early for Christmas music on the radio you say?   Well, not when you hear Heather Berry’s New CD “Have a Merry Berry Christmas” featuring 10 holiday songs that are soon to be favorites.

Recently signed with Mountain Fever Records, Heather lost no time getting into the studio and cutting 10 tracks just in time for release to radio stations and retail sales outlets.

Heather and Mountain Fever Records’ Mark Hodges jumped through some recording studio hoops to get us an advance copy so that the Prescription Bluegrass Radio audience can be the first in the world to hear a selected cut.  Hodges wrote in his email to us “…outside of Heather and Tony, myself and the mastering engineer, oh yes, and my mom and dad, you are the first one to hear it.”


The featured song to be exclusively heard on Prescription Bluegrass the week of November 5-11 will be the Irving Berlin Christmas Classic and world-wide favorite, “White Christmas”, first performed by and made popular by the late Bing Crosby.       Click Here to find out where to listen



One story about the song and how Mr. Berlin wrote it puts him pool-side at the world-famous Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Arizona in 1940 when he came up with the lyrics …”I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”.
Prescription Bluegrass host Brian McNeal says it’s a fitting song for an exclusive Prescription Bluegrass broadcast since the syndicated radio show is produced in sunny Arizona where a truly White Christmas is seldom scene.  But that’s not the reason he chose this song to feature.  Listeners won’t want to miss the end of the song when Heather brings out a surprise guest singer to harmonize with and close the song.  It’s enough to make you want to immediately hear it again.

Crosby's "White Christmas" single has been credited with selling 50 million copies, the most by any release and therefore making it the biggest-selling single worldwide of all time. The Guinness Book of World Records 2009 Edition lists the song as a 100-million seller, encompassing all versions of the song, including albums.

Given enough time, we’re predicting that Heather’s version of the song may just give Ol’ Bing a run for the top spot.
