Spring Creek Announces The End after Seven-Year Run!

Image634559256303420000In a message to their fans, friends, families, Creek Freaks, Festivarians, supporters and promoters, Taylor Sims writes:
I am writing you all to say that after seven amazing years of playing wonderful music with my best friends and musical comrades, Spring Creek will be saying good-bye at the end of the 2012 festival season.
We have had a great run and played all over the country for some of the finest folks I will surely ever know. While we are looking back on fond memories we will carry with us for the rest of our lives, we are also looking ahead to a bright and promising future for all involved.

As some of you already know Dan Booth, our expert bass player and brother in arms, has been offered a killer job playing bass with Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. Dan will be playing the remainder of Spring Creek's gigs through 2012, while also playing gigs with Frank Solivan. We still have many appearances in 2012—at festivals, clubs, theaters and even a few kids' camps left to play! So, if you want to see us one more time you will have ample opportunities.
We would like to say THANK YOU to all of our loyal fans for supporting us through the years as we tried our best to bring the best music and shows that we possibly could. Thanks to all our Crested Butte fans!! You were there with us from our humble beginnings playing at Harmel's, Princess Wine Bar, Talk of the Town , The Eldo and all the other truly great venues in the Crested Butte/Gunnison Valley.
We also want to thank all our friends and fans on the Front Range of Colorado from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, and all parts in between. Moving to Lyons in the summer of 2006 was exactly what we needed as a band, and we owe more gratitude than I could possibly express to the good people and outstanding musicians that make Lyons’ scene such a fertile one. We would not have had the success we’ve enjoyed without the support from this beautiful little town we call home.

This is a bittersweet message to be writing because I am sad that the music I have poured my heart and soul into with my closest and dearest friends is coming to an end. But, I am also very happy to announce that I have joined my wife’s band, Bonnie & the Clydes. This is a dream come true for both of us to be in the same band, making music together as we have always wanted. She is an amazing vocalist, mandolin, guitar player and a very talented songwriter on her way to the big time!

Chris and Alex also have offers and opportunities coming their way as you read this, so please look for them in new and fantastic musical combinations in the Lyons area.  We will keep you informed of everyone's projects and plans in future messages, Facebook updates and Tweets, so stay in touch!

We are in the process of booking farewell shows for the summer of 2012 here in Colorado, and as that time draws near we will announce those as they come. There will be a handful of these, so stayed tuned to help us say goodbye with a bang.

In closing I would like to say THANKS again because I could never say it enough!

Best wishes,
Taylor Sims and Spring Creek (Chris, Alex and Dan)
