McReynolds Family Memorial Concert To Feature Top Name Entertainment!

Image634635396347474819For the past 18 years the McReynolds family has been hosting a benefit concert that was originally started to help support the late Keith McReynolds during his battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Keith McReynolds was the son of bluegrass pioneer and Grand Ole Opry star Jesse McReynolds of the legendary Jim & Jesse.

Keith also played bass for their band and was well loved not only by his fans but also by his fellow musicians.

Since his passing in 2000, proceeds from the annual event have gone to help support a musician battling a disease. This year the proceeds will go to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of him.

The concert will feature several artists in bluegrass, country, gospel and Americana music. They are all donating their time to help support this great cause.

Multiple Sclerosis affects people in the prime of their lives, between the ages of 20 and 50. Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. More than 2.5 million people worldwide live with this unpredictable disease. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

Currently there is no cure for MS. The money that is raised will be used to find the cause, treatment, and ultimately the cure of multiple sclerosis. The money is also used to provide education, information, direct financial support, and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS. Image634635404236294819

IBMA Award winning and Grammy nominated, Valerie Smith has graciously offered to be the “eyes and ears” on the spot and will be sending in a special “Guest Blogger” report and pictures for those of us who can’t make it to the show.

Please show your support by attending this concert or by donating to the National MS Society.
