Several benefits for Phil Leadbetter have been held and more are still being planned but if there ever was a chance for a sell-out performance, the star-power on this show should be able to do it.
From Michael Cleveland to Dale Ann Bradley, the bluegrass celebrities and talent are putting forth a major effort to help Phil and his wife Lisa with his medical expenses. Donna Ulisse asked her fans to help, saying
I am incredibly honored to have been invited to perform in Bristol, TN on April 1st as part of an all-star Bluegrass Jam Benefit for Phil Leadbetter. Rick and I as well as a few of the Poor Mountain Boys are going to join forces with some of the best in the bluegrass world to raise a ton of money to help Phil get all the treatment he needs and I hope you will be there to help us out! Phil Leadbetter, IBMA’s 2005 dobro player of the year was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and has already undergone several medial procedures.
