Image634779743101504866‘Nothin' Fancy is excited to welcome Justin Tomlin on guitar and vocals! Justin steps in to replace Gary Farris, who has chosen to pursue a new career opportunity.

Growing up in Amherst County, Virginia, Justin was surrounded by bluegrass at an early age.  He started playing guitar at the age of  ten, and his passion for Bluegrass music continued to grow in subsequent years.  He helped form "The Deer Creek Boys"  and  most recently was playing with the Marion, Virginia based group "Still-House" until this opportunity to join with Nothin' Fancy.

“While we are thrilled about the addition of Justin, we are equally saddened to be losing one of the original founding members of the group, Gary Farris. Gary has played a major role in the success of Nothin' Fancy to this point, and we appreciate all of the contributions he has made over the years.  We understand and respect his decision, and wish him all the best with his future endeavors.  So please join us in wishing Gary all the best and welcoming Justin to the group.  We're excited to have him on board and we know you're going to enjoy all the talent and humor that he brings to the stage.”

Nothin' Fancy formed as a bluegrass band in September 1994 to compete in the East Coast Bluegrass Championship in Crimora, Virginia. Since their auspicious debut, they have grown in popularity, releasing 9 full length CDs. They have played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Birchmere in Alexandria VA, Canada, Holland, Norway, and countless bluegrass festivals across our great nation. They have hosted their own festival in Buena Vista, VA since 2001.
