(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) - Roots music booking agencies TG2 Artists and Mike Green & Associates have merged to form TG2 - Mike Green Artists.
Both agencies represent an exceptional touring roster of American roots, Celtic, folk, and bluegrass artists, including GRAMMY Award winner and harmonica hero Howard Levy (Bela Fleck), GRAMMY Award nominee and roots music darlings The Duhks, Emmy Award nominee and folk royalty Jay Ungar & Molly Mason (The Civil War by Ken Burns), and Solas, the quintessential Irish-American band recording and touring in the US today.
Colleagues for many years, owners Trish Galfano (TG2 Artists) and Mike Green (Mike Green & Associates), have joined forces on the foundation of mutual respect and admiration for the other’s talents, outstanding rosters, and remarkable growth.
“For some time I’ve wanted to collaborate with another agent who approaches the music business with a similar sensibility, but different enough to provide a challenge. Trish is a dynamic, motivated and forward thinking businesswoman, and I’ve watched TG2 grow tremendously over the years. I’m excited to start this new venture for a number of reasons, but it doesn’t hurt that many of her clients are personal favorites,” says Green.
“Working with Mike is a marvelous opportunity and he has always worked with the highest of quality artists in the pantheon of roots music. He is a very experienced agent and can book a tour with his eyes closed; partnering will allow us to focus on our individual strengths and dig deeper into progressive artist and agency development, all of course with an entrepreneurial spirit,” says Galfano.
Another aspect of the merger that sets TG2 - Mike Green Artists apart from other agencies is their online contracting system developed in-house at TG2. Each client is provided secure access to all of their current booking information: offers, contracts, calendars, deposit reports, and more. Designed to allow more time to concentrate on booking, less on admin, Green calls it “brilliant” and “state-of-the-art”.
The new TG2 - Mike Green Artists will have artists showcasing at these arts conferences in the fall of 2012: the Western Arts Alliance, Midwest Arts Conference, and Performing Arts Exchange.
Green will book the agency roster in Midwest and Southeast US, and Canada; Galfano the Mid-Atlantic, New England, and the West.
Galfano and Green will continue to operate out of their respective offices in Carrboro, NC and Ann Arbor, MI. Some of the artists represented by the new agency are:
April Verch Band Bearfoot Bluegrass Camps for Kids Claire Lynch Band Jay Ungar & Molly Mason John McCutcheon Robin & Linda Williams
