Roys Give Prescription Bluegrass Exclusive Lyric Video

Image634796075578289189We’ve been told that this is a first for bluegrass.  It’s called a lyric video and the brother/sister duo The Roys are proud to be the first in bluegrass to take advantage of all that lyric videos have to offer.

The Roys and their marketing team have hit hard with numerous strategies to expose their new album “New Day Dawning” even before it’s official release date – August 28th and this new Lyric Video Exclusive is just one of many innovative projects.

Lyric videos certainly aren’t new.  The first documented occurrence came when the pop duo Wham’s George Michael created an industry stir by refusing to release a traditional video in 1990 and instead released a generic looking clip with black background and white text.    Since the advent of YouTube, fans of any particular group or artist have been creating their own Lyric Videos to their favorite songs.

Those old enough to remember television’s “Sing Along With Mitch” (NBC Network, 1961-1964) where the viewers were treated to something similar to today’s Karaoke screen with a bouncing ball to help the singer keep the timing may have reminiscent thoughts.

THE ROYS ramp up to the August 28 launch of their new Rural Rhythm Records' CD, NEW DAY DAWNING, with exclusive promotions on PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS and BLUEGRASS JUNCTION, SiriusXM 61 Track -By-Track.

Starting today, fans can catch a first for Bluegrass artists as PB debuts a Lyric Video for the duo's current single, "Still Standing." According to the site's Brian McNeal, "Lyric videos aren't a new thing, but with some sleuthing we've discovered that they are new to Bluegrass. We've been in this trend-setting duo's fan-camp since their first album, so we're extremely proud to help them launch this CD with this first-of-its-kind for Bluegrass lyric video."

The track is already drawing praise from influential radio personalities and programmers, including this quote from Joe Limardi, Program Director, 650 AM WSM, who says:

“I gotta believe that 'Still Standing' is the breakout hit for The Roys! The melody and chorus just stick to ya!”  Radio legend Moby in the Morning says, "I love The Roys. I love 'Still Standing' and I can’t wait for the release of their new CD.  It’ll be a great day for Bluegrass! Yeah, baby!"

Fans can pre-order their signed, discounted copy of NEW DAY DAWNING now here.
