Set to premiere in Chattanooga on March 7, 2013, Scenic City Roots will take place once monthly, Thursdays, at the city’s most dynamic music venue, Track 29. Shows will begin at 7:00 PM Eastern.

“Chattanooga is known best for its natural beauty and is quickly gaining a reputation as a technological hub as well as a home for great music,” Todd Mayo explains.

“We will look to export the natural beauty and music from in and around Chattanooga to the world and the rest of the state through our wonderful promotional partners.”

The show will air each month from one of Chattanooga’s great new music venues, Track 29.

“We are very excited to team up with Heng Dai Media to present ‘Scenic City Roots, Live from Track 29,’" Monica Kinsey of Track 29 shares. “It is an incredible opportunity, not only for Track 29, but also to showcase Chattanooga and its talented local musicians to the world."

The March 7th debut show will include sets from the following artists: WTM Blues Band, The SteelDrivers, JOHNNYSWIM and St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

The show will be filmed and streamed in high definition live online each month and Chattanooga PBS affiliate, WTCI, will air the program on Thursday nights at 9 PM each week, starting in April. The Chattanooga Times Free Press has partnered with Scenic City Roots as the exclusive print sponsor.

“As the Tennessee Valley’s PBS station, we are excited to present this wonderful program showcasing the rich musical talent of our area,” Paul Grove President and CEO of WTCI, said. “It is a perfect fit with our mission to educate, engage, inspire and entertain.”

"The Chattanooga Times Free Press is proud to support local music events and is excited for the opportunity to align our new entertainment brand ChattanoogaNow.com with Scenic City Roots," Lyndsi Lane, Chattanooga Times Free Press Marketing Director, stated.

Although Scenic City and Music City are stand alone shows, they do share the strong common thread of reigniting music with purpose while utilizing the old time radio format that cultivated some of Tennessee’s most legendary music careers. Four acts will take the stage during the two-hour live show and one artist will be from Chattanooga each show.

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union has signed on early as a presenting sponsor and Scenic City Roots looks to grow with the community of Chattanooga by adding partners to align with this exciting new brand of entertainment.

“As an advocate of our vibrant arts community, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union is thrilled to bring this exciting new concert series to Chattanooga,” Jimmy Johnston, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union Marketing Manager, adds.  “At only $10 a show, it’s a fantastic way to enjoy some great music, at a great local venue.”

Each month, members of the Music City Roots crew will head south for the event guaranteeing the quality production work viewers have come to expect from Heng Dai. Scenic City is not Heng Dai’s first musical endeavor in Chattanooga; the team recently worked together to help produce the 2012 River Rocks finale dubbed “Gig City Roots.” The finale took place on October 13, 2012 and featured Jason D. Williams, Chuck Mead and more as well as highlighted the transcontinental collaboration of Chuck Mead and T. Bone Burnett (performing from Los Angeles.)
