Dates Announced for SF’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival

Image634931463356282728One of the country’s most anticipated music festivals, the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2013 will be held in Golden Gate Park on October 4, 5 & 6.

The festival’s founder, Warren Hellman passed away in December of 2011 (see related story).  Not only is the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival one of the largest it is also very unique in that it is an absolutely free festival for attendees thanks to the late Hellman’s generosity.

Here is a relatively unseen interview shot with Hellman about a year before his death. He talks about the genesis of the festival.
