Raleigh Businesses Rally to Sponsor Free Street Fest!

Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlaneRaleigh won the opportunity to host the International Bluegrass Music Association event for many reasons, including our proven ability to put together a splendid free street festival open to all.” said Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane.  “For bringing the music into the streets where everyone can enjoy it, these organizations deserve all the credit.  Our sponsors are the bedrock of our City’s reputation as an entertainment destination.”

The Wide Open Bluegrass Street Fest, part of World of Bluegrass 2013, is presented by a collaboration among the City of Raleigh, the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), PineCone, and the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau.

PNC Bank is the overall presenting sponsor of Wide Open Bluegrass. “All stages” sponsorships for the free street festival come from R.A. Jeffreys: Big Boss on the Martin Street stage, Bud Light on the City Plaza stage, and Lone Rider on the Hargett Street stage.

Rex Health Care and UNC Health Care are presenting the Get Moving Dance Tent and Get Moving Sports Zone. Red Hat is presenting the hospitality tent, and VisitNC the Kids’ Stage.

On the media side, KIX 102.9 has signed on to sponsor the Kids’ Stage, The News & Observer is running a special bluegrass print guide (Sept. 22), Our State Magazine is sponsoring the Got to Be NC pavilion, WQDR-FM the Martin Street stage,  WRAL-TV the City Plaza stage and Get Moving Dance Tent, and WTVD ABC-11 the Got to Be NC pavilion in front of its Fayetteville Street studio and the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship.
