Chris Jones & the Nightdrivers' New Single

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE - CHRIS JONES AND THE NIGHTDRIVERS ALBUM ARTIt’s rare for a bluegrass group to go 5 singles deep into any one release, but that’s not the only unusual thing about You’re my Family Now,” the latest from Chris Jones & The Night Drivers.

In their performance of a story inspired by real life dramas playing out around the world, the Night Drivers have brought together an unprecedented four IBMA songwriting award recipients—not just the Night Drivers' Chris Jones* and Jon Weisberger**, but co-writer Chris Stuart*** and guest resonator guitarist Ivan Rosenberg***.

“You’re My Family Now” follows a string of three Bluegrass Today chart-toppers—the Jones-written Lonely Comes Easy album’s title track; the Night Drivers’ stretched-out rendition of the tongue-twisting, memory-challenging trucker recitation, “Wolf Creek Pass,” and, most recently, the ode to good living written by Chris with Tom T. and Dixie Hall, Where I Am—along with a near-miss (at #2) in the Jones-Weisberger collaboration, “If That Was Love.”

To coincide with the release, the Night Drivers—Jones, bassist Weisberger, banjo man Ned Luberecki and mandolinist Mark Stoffel—have also released a performance video made during a recent appearance in Knoxville.

Completing the circle, Rosenberg will be joining the Night Drivers for select dates and workshops in the Pacific Northwest later in March, as the veteran ensemble heads into a busy touring season that includes stops at Bean Blossom; Huck Finn’s Jubilee; Five String Fest; Grand Targhee Bluegrass; Outer Banks; and a first-ever appearance at Merlefest.
