Fredrick Alan Younger, 60, of Nora Springs, Iowa passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Dec. 27, 2014.
Fred loved bluegrass music and playing mandolin, especially with his son,Cole, at church and other area events.
His weekly radio show, “Bluegrass Gospel Gems,” was in its sixth year of broadcasting on KCMR-FM, 97.9 in Mason City.
Fred graduated from Nora Springs High School and the University of Northern Iowa with a major in anthropology and history in 1977.
He had married his college sweetheart, Judy, on Aug. 14, 1976. Fred and Judy were blessed with a son, Cole, in 1988, now a music teacher at Central Springs School.
