Three winning songs and three honorable mentions are the highlights of the inaugural HAZEL DICKENS SONG CONTEST from the DC Bluegrass Union.

First Place winner Gary Ferguson will perform his song "Say What You Mean" on the main stage at the 5th annual DC Bluegrass Festival on February 28, 2015 at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel in Vienna, VA.

The Hazel Dickens song contest celebrates the life and muse of one of bluegrass music's most beloved songwriters. All proceeds from the Hazel Dickens Song Contest go to the DC Bluegrass Union, a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization with a mission to promote bluegrass music in the greater Washington region through education and performance.
