The 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards to be presented this Thursday evening will be streamed live online by Music City Roots on their website, www.musiccityroots.com.
This is in addition to the live broadcast on SiriusXM Satellite Radio (Bluegrass Junction) which was previously announced, as well as the live broadcast throughout North Carolina by WUNC-TV.
The show, which will be hosted by The Gibson Brothers, begins at 7:30 p.m./EDT and takes place at Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, N.C. Awards are voted on by the professional membership of the IBMA.
“We’ll be airing highlights from the show in this fall’s APT series, but there’s something magical about the live experience,” said Music City Roots Executive Producer John Walker. Some moments only happen once in a lifetime, like the Tony Rice speech in 2013.”
IBMA Executive Director Paul Schiminger added, “We are excited to once again partner with Music City Roots to offer live online streaming of the IBMA Awards Show. While there is nothing like being there in person, it is great to have online viewing available for those fans who can’t be Raleigh for this spectacular evening of musical celebration.”
A complete list of nominees, this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, and the recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award can also be found at www.ibma.org.
In addition to the Awards Show, IBMA’s World of Bluegrass event – presented by Chiesi USA - consists of: the IBMA Business Conference, September 29 – October 1; Wide Open Bluegrass, presented by PNC, October 2-3 (which includes both free stages and ticketed festival performances) and the Bluegrass Ramble, an innovative series of showcases, taking place September 29 – October 1 in various Raleigh venues.
