Bluegrass Patriots Reunite for Special Shows!

Image635830327080868176Good news is never too late to share. One hot story that has been kept under the radar way too long is the reunion shows from the Bluegrass Patriots.

The Patriots disbanded in 2011 but a surprise listing on a current festival flyer prompted us to look up their website and subsequently contact them for clarification.

We talked with baritone singer and banjo player Ken Seaman, who reminded us that even back in 2011 they never discounted the idea of reunion shows.  He says they ended up taking about a year and a half or so off but began doing between three and five reunion shows per year at selected venues beginning in about 2013.

The first show on their website calendar is this weekend at the 36th Annual Wickenburg Bluegrass Festival and Fiddle Championship in Wickenburg, Arizona.   They'll be back in the "Copper State" again in early 2016 at the Colorado River Bluegrass Festival in Bullhead City, Arizona just across the Colorado River from the gambling casinos in Laughlin, NV.

The good news is that fans can still see The Patriots occasionally in a live setting but Seaman told us there are no plans for new recordings - at least not at this time, but one can still hope.

Present as always in their live shows are the stunning lead and harmony vocals by all five members, the bluesy and punchy picking, well-penned originals, and folksy charm on stage.  Slowed, they have not.

Try to catch them if you can somewhere between California and Ireland.

"...they're a wonderful group, they're fine entertainers, they're good musicians and they sing wonderful." - Bill Monroe
