Bill G. Perry who at one time was the agent and road manager for a band known as Bluegrass Review has passed away at age 80. The Bluegrass Review spawned the career of Bluegrass and Country giant, Vince Gill.
Perry died Friday evening, November 13, 2015 in Oklahoma City.
Perry was instrumental in bringing Bluegrass music to the western U.S., being the first promoter to hire Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys west of the Mississippi River.
He played guitar and sang in several Bluegrass bands including “City Grass,” “Revival,” “Sexy Senior Citizens,” and “Cimmaron Station.”
With friends, he founded the Oklahoma Bluegrass Club and Greater Oklahoma Bluegrass Music Society.
The GREATER OKLAHOMA BLUEGRASS MUSIC SOCIETY says:

He was an Honorary Oklahoma Colonel, and a member of a small group of friends which convinced Governors David Hall and Governor David Boren to declare a week as “Bluegrass Music Week” in Oklahoma.
Viewing is at Mercer-Adams, Bethany, OK, Nov. 17th and 18th, from 6-8 PM, and his funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 19 at Christ’s Church, Yukon, OK, at 2 PM, followed by a burial at Resurrection Cemetery on NW Expressway, and a Bluegrass Pickin’ in his honor.
