“John Dig A Hole”–New from Cumberland Gap Connection

Image634871822099249280Mountain Fever Records announces the release of "John Dig A Hole", the first single from the new project by Cumberland Gap Connection,  is available today.

Mark Hodges of Mountain Fever Records is very excited about adding Cumberland Gap Connection to his label's roster.

"Keeping with the traditional side of bluegrass is important to us here at Mountain Fever," states Hodges. "When Mike Bentley sent me some music from the band a couple of years ago, I was impressed. When he let me hear this new one, I was blown away. This is a band that lives in their songs. These guys know what they are singing about and the emotion in the songs comes from real life. This is the real stuff here." While the band puts the finishing touches on their debut CD for Mountain Fever Records, radio programmers and fans can enjoy a preview of what to expect with the first single, "John Dig A Hole". With the haunting sound of the claw-hammer banjo opening up the tune, "John Dig A Hole" is sure to win over traditionalists and contemporary bluegrass fans as well.

Written by former Volume Five band member Colby Laney, the new project's first single, "Rich Man's Daughter"is a perfect example of what listeners have to look forward to with the band's next offering. New CD from Delta Reign–Calm Before The Storm

Image634853637386241006Mountain Fever Records announces the release of Calm Before The Storm, the brand new CD by Delta Reign, available today.

Calm Before The Storm is an excellent example of what this band offers during their performances. With the fusion of bluegrass, delta blues, swing, jazz and rock, the band is certainly diverse with its music.

With this CD, Delta Reign covers the gamut of great music with a Hank Williams classic ("There'll Be No Teardrops Tonight"),  a Flatt and Scruggs standard ("A Hundred Years From Now") and two great songs penned by Jimmie Davis ("Columbus Stockade Blues" and "You Won't Be Satisfied That Way").

KRACE To Release New CD on Mountain Fever Records

Image634775885644793675Known to their fans as KRACE, Kevin Richardson & Cuttin' Edge is a relatively new band on the bluegrass circuit. But don't mistake that "newness" for inexperience.

Their front man, Kevin Richardson, may well be one of the most underrated guitarists and vocalists in bluegrass music, due in no small part because up until now, he's been quite comfortable taking on a more supportive roll as a sideman to some of the most popular male vocalists in the genre.

After a stint helping noted tenor vocalist Lou Reid form his first solo band, Carolina, and then spending the last four years on stage in support of bluegrass legend Larry Stephenson, Richardson has learned more than a thing or two about bluegrass and what it takes to form a successful band in today's world of music.
