Stanley Brothers Commemoration Extended

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE TOM T. & DIXIE HALL- GOOD HOME GROWN MUSICOriginally planned for December 1st, the day that marks the passing of Carter Stanley in 1966, Tom T. and Dixie Hall's record company, Good Home Grown Music has now called for an extended celebration of the Stanley Brothers and their contribution to Mountain Music.

World-Wide Remembrance Tribute To Stanley Brothers Set for December 1st.

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE  - RALPH & CARTER STANLEYDecember 1st being the anniversary of the loss of Carter Stanley,  Tom T. and Dixie Hall's Good Home Grown Music company is asking Stanley fans around the world to put their hands together and join spirits commemorating two gentlemen who personify THE foundation of traditional mountain music.

During a lifelong career, Ralph has recorded at least 170 albums which includes 30 on Rebel Records and 20 years worth of recordings with Carter.

Remembering Mama Cass (September 19, 1941–July 29, 1974)

Image635106410063737320Cass Elliot, undoubtedly one of the major forces in shaping the sound of the sixties, passed away on this date in 1974.

Before the famed Mamas and Papas, Cass was a member of another popular folk group, a trio known as The Big Three.  Enjoy this clip of “Rider.”

Remembering Charlie Waller (January 19, 1935 – August 18, 2004)

Born Charles Otis Waller, January 19, 1935 – August 18, 2004) he was the lead singer and guitarist for the legendary bluegrass band the Country Gentlemen. Waller was involved with the Country Gentlemen for 47 years. As a member of the Country Gentlemen, Waller was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor in 1996.
