The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America is the first official organization to recognize excellence in bluegrass music, by hosting a Bluegrass Music Awards Show. The first awards were presented in 1974. The convention and awards show was moved to Nashville in 1984; along with the creation of a Bluegrass Band Competition. The competition is a showcase for new bands and young musicians; providing a common ground for both professionals and amateurs to interact, and share in the celebration and preservation of bluegrass music.
The 37th Annual SPBGMA Convention will be held on February 3 - 6, 2011 in Nashville, TN at the Music City Sheraton, with the Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 6, 2011.

"We are so blessed to receive these nominations," Rhonda shares from her Nashville studio, as she takes a break from recording her first "Folgers Jingle". "We live our dream each day, playing the music we love, and we appreciate every moment, and everyone who shares their support." Martha White, www.marthawhite.com (the longest continuous running sponsor of the Grand Ole Opry) has also been the greatest sponsorship supporter of Rhonda Vincent & The Rage; providing 10 years of tradition touring in the Martha White Bluegrass Express, (the tour bus provided by the flour company, in the image of Flatt & Scruggs). And now the group has added their bluegrass flair to the Folgers Jingle, along with other artists, ie: Michael McDonald, Rascal Flatts, and Aaron Neville.
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage are true ambassadors for bluegrass music. Their introduction of bluegrass with their music is reaching the world with their #1 Billboard CD "Taken" on Upper Management Music. The international attention has resulted in a demand for the band over-seas, resulting in a European Tour for July 2011. France and Switzerland being confirmed stops, with additional performances in negotiation for Greece, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, along with as many additional countries as their schedule will allow.
Rhonda shares her holiday spirit to host a Christmas Show on SIRIUS XM Radio - The Bluegrass Junction. Guests include Dolly Parton, Dr Ralph Stanley, and many others. Check www.siriusxm.com for specific broadcast times and zones.
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage will begin their 2011 Tour out West, to headline the River City Bluegrass Festival in Portland, Oregon.
