Psst... We thought you might like to know:
• On Friday afternoon, catch Frank Solivan (of his band, Dirty Kitchen) and Linzay Young (Red Stick Ramblers) cooking up batches of their favorite dishes. If you stay long enough, they'll be dishing out samples for you to try. Location: BGA Tent at 4pm.
• Friday and Saturday, at the Masters Tent, students and faculty from Berklee College of Music (along with some pretty talented alumni) will be talking about their American Roots Music Program plus playing and singing up a storm. These sessions were a huge hit last year and are bound to be popular again.
• Want to try singing and playing with a band? Karaoke with Kitsy (the true Queen of Bluegrass) is the place to be. Saturday/Masters Tent/Noon. It's a ton o' fun and you need to check that out from either side of the stage.
• We still have room for more students (age 8 and up) in our Bluegrass Academy for Kids, led by master musician and teacher, Brian Wicklund. Click for more info.
• Kids! Bring a tee shirt or pair of shorts to "Tie Dye Night" Thursday at the Family Stage. It's a blast and you get to wear your colorful work of art all weekend!
• Beginning pickers! The Slow Jam Tent is for you. Bring your instrument Fri and Sat and immerse yourself in Bluegrass 101 instruction by Paul Dube and his assistants.
• The Grey Fox Showcase features up and coming bands from around the country (FL to MA) who will wow you with their talent at the Masters Stage Thurs-Sat from 7:00 pm on. This year's bands will knock your socks off!
John and Trish's Welcome Dance on Thursday evening will get you in the groove as they call contras, circles and squares. Then the fun at the Dance Tent will be officially in full swing — with some of the country's top dance bands plus sets by Main Stage artists. Dancers, swayers and even lawn chair loungers are welcome throughout the weekend, so don't be a stranger.
• Also back by popular demand is our 2nd Annual Open Mic Night, hosted by Mother Judge of Albany fame. This Wednesday night event is for campers only. Must be a band (no solo acts, please). Last year it was so much fun that we just have to do it again. Sign up at the Dance Tent. More details later.
• Almost forgot to tell you! The Dinner Break is back on Friday and Saturday, so you can get up and stretch, go get something to eat, change into your evening clothes and not miss a beat of the music. Yay! You asked. We listened.
• We could go on and on, but we trust you get the picture: There's a big bunch of fun for all ages with all types of interests at Grey Fox. So, come join us. Bring the family.
