Grand Ole Opry star and legend Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys will headline Song of the Mountains at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia on Saturday, July 16th.
This will be Jesse’s third appearance on the nationally distributed public television series. Jesse remarked, “I am looking forward to returning to southwestern Virginia where I know many good friends and fans”. Jesse and his late brother Jim McReynolds were born in nearby Carfax, Virginia and started their performing careers around the Coeburn/Norton area of Virginia in the 1940s.
Jesse is still a regular on the world famous Grand Ole Opry and has recently released another recording that is getting great reviews around the world.
Also on the concert taping with Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys will be the family harmonies of the young sisters group “Gold Heart”. This will make their second appearance on the concert series. Also included on the concert schedule is the great old time music of the “New North Carolina Ramblers” and the unique and great talent of Allen Thompson. Song of the Mountains features bluegrass, old time, Celtic and Americana Music and is currently airing on over 190 Public Television outlets across the United States. Tim White hosts the series.
