Conococheague Bluegrass Festival to hit Pennsylvania on Saturday

Image634813034665258448Greencastle, PA -- The 2012 Conococheague Bluegrass Festival is set to arrive on Saturday, August 25. This year's festival will be opened and closed by Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band, recently hailed as "mainstream bluegrass at its best" by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. Stoney Creek has spent most of 2012 promoting their new bluegrass gospel project, “Are You Ready?”.

The 2012 Conococheague Bluegrass Festival will also feature returning festival alumni Lonesome Highway, whose recent album "Got Away With Murder" received frequent airplay on Sirius XM radio and debuted at number one on AirPlay Direct's Bluegrass Album Chart.

The festival will also welcome back regional favorites the Back Creek Valley Boys, and Ernie Bradley and Grassy Ridge. The festival line-up will be rounded out by Circa Blue, whose self-titled debut album was released in March.

The annual Conococheague Bluegrass Festival is hosted by America Legion Post 373. The festival will be held at on August 25th at the Greencastle American Legion Picnic Grounds, located at 4775 Williamson Road, Greencastle, Pa.

Four Quarters winery will be in attendance as well as local vendors.  Melissa Ball will be attending with her painted turkey feathers.  Lawn chairs are advised.

Gates open at 8 a.m., with music from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person.  Camping available for $10 per night.

This was a good festival and I enjoyed all the bands. Stoney Creek and Lonesome Highway were excellent and I'm looking forward to seeing them at festivals again soon.
