Pinecastle Releases Digital Versions of WEBCO Classics

Ten Historic WEBCO Classics Now Available Online

Long out of print, these classic WEBCO recordings are now available for download at your favorite online retailer. Pinecastle Records purchased WEBCO Records of Virginia in 1993 which marked the beginning of fruitful relationships with artists like Larry Stephenson and The Reno Brothers. These ten recordings were either existing releases on the WEBCO label or, in the case of the WEBCO Classics series, compilations released after the Pinecastle purchase.

GUEST BLOGGER, Becky Buller's 1st Post - Sabal Palms

Becky Buller
03/08/11 VSLP Reporting From Sabal Palms Old Country & Bluegrass Festival

Howdy, friends and neighbors!

We of VSLP (Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike) are taking it easy today after a wild and woolly weekend at the Sabal Palms RV Resort in Palmdale, FL.  We performed Fri. & Sat. at their 3rd Annual Sabal Palms Old Country & Bluegrass Festival.  Friday night the pavilion was full.  Saturday night, it was overflowing.  And all the camping spots were maxed out.  (Always great to watch a festival growing!)
2011 Up A Creek Sat Show at Sabal Palms

The James King band was here as well.  King's banjo man Owen Piatt got up to help us out with a few songs from our brand new record, Blame It On The Bluegrass, and Bobby Davis, formerly of VSLP and now King's bass player, joined us to fiddle "Angelina Baker" on the Saturday night show.  Of course, we were all excited about the big Tater Hill reunion show.  (Roger Bass was tugging on everybody's heart-strings with those old Hank numbers.)  There was also great music from Pure & Simple, Up A Creek, Tomorrow's News, Generations and many more.
2011 Becky Interviewing James King at Sabal Palms
Great crowd for the gospel sing Sunday morning.  I was there, but dragging as I'd stayed up way too late jamming the night before.

James took a second to talk with me for our Bluegrass Crossroads Show on WMSR Thunder Radio, 1320 AM in Manchester, Tenn., and online at http://www.thunder1320.com.

2011 Val & Becky Paddle Boat Cruise
Val and I got some quality paddle boating in yesterday and, luckily, the gator didn't swim up to say hello while we were out there.  David got a good picture of him though.  We named him Dale, for Palmdale, Dale Perry and Dale Ann Bradley.

As soon as the laundry is done, we're heading out for St. Augustine, where we'll be performing at the 30th Annual Seafood Festival this coming weekend.  (I can't wait to see Lonesome Bert and the Lizards again!)  We're also going to be doing some filming for a music video while we're in our country's oldest town.  Stay tuned tohttp://www.valeriesmithonline.com for more information on that!

2011 VSLP Being Eaten By Sabal Palms Gator
We'll be checking in with you guys and Brian in the next two weeks as our tour continues.  Pictures are provided by our bass man David Tousley.

Over and out for now!
