LOOK ! We're New & Improved

The Prescription Bluegrass Blog has just been "Botoxed", undergone an "Extreme Makeover" and injected with electronic steroids for a more "Youthful Look".

Our Bulletin Board companion to the Radio Therapy is now being hosted on a new site with more features than before. We've got a cleaner look which means easier to read. And we've got a lot of new features which means it'll be easier to find stories by using our Archive or Search tools.

Plus we've added a couple of highlights like the REAL TIME news feed constantly searching for anything bluegrass that hits the News. Check out the panel on the right under "UP-TO-THE-MINUTE-NEWS. We're constantly searching for any news in "Bluegrass Music". If we expect something breaking, we'll search for those keywords as well.

Also, just for fun, we've added the "Rhyme Me"
search tool just for songwriters.

One slight sacrifice in doing this makeover is that older posts from the former blog site will not migrate into this blog. So for older stories, visit us at: http://rxbluegrass.wordpress.com/. We'll maintain that site for some time yet until the archives can be imported here.

OWENSBORO, Ky. — The late father of bluegrass music, Bill Monroe, will be playing soon in New York's Times Square to promote the Kentucky celebration of the centennial of his birth.
The convention and visitors bureau for Owensboro and Daviess County, Ky., is putting a 15-second ad on a digital full-motion billboard on New York's 42nd Street.   Visitors bureau executive director Karen Miller told the Messenger-Inquirer of Owensboro that the spot will feature Monroe, bluegrass music and Owensboro and will run 18 times a day for 48 days at a cost of $15,000.  It will run from Nov. 15 to Jan. 1, times that will cover the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Times Square New Year's Eve celebration.
Monroe died in 1996 and is buried in Rosine, Ky.
