New CD from Nothin' Fancy on Brand New Label!

Image634576404014620690Recorded at Virginia Dreams Studios in Harrisonburg VA and released on the fledgling Virginia Dreams record label, Nothin' Fancy's new self-titled record is a delight for the senses.  Ranging from straight-up bluegrass to original material to a throwback reworking of Credence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' Out My Back Door" to the trademark Nothin' Fancy humor in "Grandma Bought A Hog," the whole band is thrilled with the relaxed, down-home atmosphere of this recording.

Says fiddler Chris Sexton, "we worked harder on this record than we ever have before - this is not our first rodeo, and we know what we want the record to feel like.

We feel like we really got the essence of Nothin' Fancy into this one."   Adds lead singer, songwriter and mandolin player Mike Andes, "throughout the recording process of this album I commented to all involved on how smoothly it was going. I had to wonder if this was a good thing or a sign of lackluster performance. I am very pleased to say the final product has gone beyond my highest expectation. The songs, the music and the total feel of this CD is truly Nothin' Fancy."

The recording is available for purchase through mail order and via credit card on PayPal through the Nothin' Fancy website, as well as at all Nothin' Fancy tour appearances and fine bluegrass loving record stores everywhere.  Additionally, Gary Farris' new CD "Bringin' Up The Past" is also available for purchase.

Nothin' Fancy formed as a bluegrass band in September 1994 to compete in the East Coast Bluegrass Championship in Crimora, Virginia. Since their auspicious debut, they have grown in popularity, releasing 9 full length CDs. They have played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Birchmere in Alexandria VA, Canada, Holland, Norway, and countless bluegrass festivals across our great nation. They have hosted their own festival in Buena Vista, VA since 2001.
