New SteelDrivers Band for New Year

SteelDriver’s Regrouping After Mike Henderson’s Exit
Image634605690792540000SteelDrivers’ founding member Mike Henderson has announced he’s leaving the band.  His replacement according to band member Tammy Rodgers will be the only sub the SteelDrivers ever had – Brent Truitt joining the band on mandolin.
In an open letter to fans posted on the SteelDriver’s website, Henderson said it was a personal decision:
Dear Friends and Fans,
It sure has been a great six years, all the sold-out shows, great festivals and two grammy-nominated records of which I will always be very proud. This was all made possible by you, and I thank you from the bottom of a grateful heart.
Now, for personal reasons which have nothing to do with me or my family's health or well being, the time has come for me to say goodbye. Don't worry I'll be around and you'll be hearing from me soon. I leave the SteelDrivers in the capable hands of my bandmates and I know they won't let us down as they move forward.
I'll always cherish the wonderful memories of getting to meet so many of you great folks. Thanks again and may God bless you all.
Peace & Love,
Mike Henderson

Sorry to see Mike go, but I also look forward to hearing his great music in some other format in the future. Also, with Brent Truitt taking over Mandolin duties, the Steeldrivers will go on making fine music ..........Best of luck to all concerned, and good wishes for 2012.

Kind Regards, Niall. www.nialltonerband.com
