Doug Dillard, the banjo whiz that helped to create the unique mountain sound of the Dillards who played “the Darlings” on the 1960’s Andy Griffith Show has been hospitalized with emphysema
According to Doug’s brother Rodney, who now leads the Dillard Band, Doug has been intubated and he was not able speak with him.
Rodney asked fans to keep Doug in their thoughts and prayers.
