National Bluegrass announces the beginning of a new tradition. On March 2nd 2013, 4 great bluegrass bands will represent National Bluegrass as the winners of their monthly people’s choice, emerging artist contest, known as the B.O.R.N. Award (Band On Rise Nationally).
Each month, National Bluegrass spotlights 5 bands that they feel have the potential to be the next big “breakout artist”.
The fans then have a chance to say who they think is best. Each month, the victorious artists prove that becoming a sensation is not only about talent, but involvement with fans as well. The winner is rewarded for their efforts not only with the bragging rights and exposure that comes with such a title, but an advertising package from National Bluegrass and advancement into the next round of the competition. The final contest will be held throughout the month of December in which all monthly winners will compete with each other to crown a champion and 3 runners up.
On March 2nd, the top 4 bands from December will come together for a live concert at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville, Tennessee with the champion of the contest headlining the event. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the NPAC Box Office for $20 each plus a $2.50 internet transaction fee per ticket.
