Uncle Earl Reunites At RockyGrass!

Here's some serious news we're just now learning about.  The International Bluegrass Music Association alerted us to a news story published online over a week ago on a private site.

After a six year hiatus, the all female group, UNCLE EARL has reunited and already played  a sold out show at the RockyGrass Festival.

Kristin Andreassen, guitarist, fiddler and clogger for the band writes on her personal page  that this particular configuration of the band hadn't played together for six years, ..."but it all came back somehow."

First-Ever Stage Appearance Reunites Soggy Bottom Boys!

The Soggy Bottom Boys—the rollicking old-time string band featured on the silver screen and known for the Grammy winning "Man Of Constant Sorrow" will reunite for a special performance Saturday, March 22, at the Ole Smoky® Tennessee Moonshine Distillery (also known as The Holler™). 

This performance marks the first time The Soggy Bottom Boys will appear as a stage band.  It is a free show that starts at 5:00PM.

Nickel Creek Reunion Tour Confirmed

The rumors have been reported for the last week but no confirmation about a possible Nickel Creek Reunion this coming Spring ...until now.

Although no word yet has been released on the group's website, Prescription Bluegrass has learned from a reliable source that the rumors are indeed fact and the band will be touring together in the Spring and Summer of 2014.

This year marks the 10 year anniversary of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, the landmark film and soundtrack that sparked a cultural phenomenon. To this day it still has a significant influence and impact on modern pop as evident in some of today's top acts, from Neo-traditional Americana bands from The Secret Sisters, The Civil Wars and Carolina Chocolate Drops to alternative mainstays Mumford & Sons, and Fleet Foxes.
