Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys Headline Song of the Mountains!

Grand Ole Opry star and legend Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys will headline Song of the Mountains at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia on Saturday, July 16th.

This will be Jesse’s third appearance on the nationally distributed public television series. Jesse remarked, “I am looking forward to returning to southwestern Virginia where I know many good friends and fans”. Jesse and his late brother Jim McReynolds were born in nearby Carfax, Virginia and started their performing careers around the Coeburn/Norton area of Virginia in the 1940s.

"We are excited to say JACK HICKS has excepted an invitation to play banjo and fiddle with us," Jerry posted on his facebook page.  "As it began and throughout the week of the ETA Bluegrass Cruise we knew that he would he would fit us to a tee. We very much share the same musical interests in songs and the way we want to present ourselves as a band".

Jack began his career with Jim and Jesse before becoming a Bluegrass Boy with Bill Monroe. He later went on to play with Lester Flatt and has also worked with Del Reeves, Sonny James and 10 years as fiddle player with Conway Twitty.
"The stories and experiences that Jack has already shared with us are very entertaining and we’re sure others will make the road trips fun for all. His style of play compliments us and to have the option of fiddle to some selections is great. Needless to say we are looking forward to what lies ahead for the Blu-J’s."
