Mike Scott Relishes in “The Good Times”

Since the release of his two new albums, TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME and BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY/A 100TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE TO BILL MONROE, he has been nominated in the New Artist category of the 2011 Front Porch Fellowship Gospel Awards. The winner will be announced during the Bluegrass Pickin’ Jamboree at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY on Wednesday, September 14th.
Also, “Since I Laid My Burdens Down” from the album, TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME, is #1 on Powergrass Radio’s Top 10 Song chart for July and August, 2011. Click to listen.

Tour will focus on the Rural Rhythm Records
BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY and TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME Albums

The tour is designed as two day stop in each city it will visit. On Saturday Night Scott will focus his music on the BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY album and on the Sunday Morning shows the music will feature TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME. The shows will be held in different venues. The Sunday shows will be geared to churches and assemblies of faith where as the Saturday evening events will be held typically in music venues and settings that feature live acoustic music. Mike Scott has long been a part of the tradition of American acoustic music.  He has been on stage entertaining audiences since 1972 when he was only 10 years old and has since performed with Danny Davis & The Nashville Brass, led Mike Scott & The All-American Band, and helped define the tradition of Jim & Jesse and The Virginia Boys.  Since 2001, Mike has been a featured artist with frequent appearances on RFD’s Blue Highways TV show, Reno’s Old Time Music Festival (seen in over 25 million households) as part of Ronnie Reno & The Reno Tradition.
