Becky Buller Is Trying to “Save The Princess”

The historic Princess Theatre in Becky Buller’s hometown of St. James, Minnesota is one of those nostalgic main-street icons   It has been a downtown landmark in the small farming community since it was built in 1915 but it is about to experience some changes.  Like everything else these days movie companies are headed down the digital highway. 

What that means for the Princess and thousands of other hometown theatres from Hollywood’s golden era is a costly upgrade to new digital equipment or they’ll never again be able to show a new movie.  

Monroe Crossing To Perform at Carnegie Hall–You Could Sing On Stage With Them!

Monroe Crossing has some very exciting news to announce.  The band has recently been invited to perform "The World Beloved:  A Bluegrass Mass" in New York City next February, 2013. The venue? The historic Carnegie Hall.

Wow, who'd a thunk a Minnesota Bluegrass band would end up on the stage at Carnegie Hall.  But that's not the end of it, you and your chorus can can join them on stage! 

Legendary Sound Man–Tom Keith Dies

Tom Keith, “A Prairie Home Companion’s” Master Sound Effects Man and who also co-hosted a weekday morning program on Minnesota Public Radio, died Sunday October 29th after having a heart attack at his home in Woodbury, Minn., a St. Paul suburb. He was 64.

"Stage Presence - The Movie" Features National Bluegrass Artists!

Monroe Crossing and Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike are just two of the groups featured in a new movie by Craig Smith, designed to help performing musicians with better stage presence and engaging the audience into their show.  The movie, which is just over fifteen minutes in length, contains comments and insights from mostly Minnesota MBOTMA bluegrass bands discussing the importance (and personalization) of their entertainment techniques, philosophies and Stage Presence.
