Rest In Peace Bill Bogan

We've just learned of the passing of our friend Bill Bogan of Spring Valley, AZ.  Bill left this world on June 6, 2011.  He had been suffering from cancer.

Bill was a frequent site at many Bluegrass Festivals around the Southwest.  We talked a lot about radio and old LP collections.  Many Sunday morning breakfasts were enjoyed around festivals where Bill deep fried the best tasting bacon for any festival attendees who wanted to throw a couple of bucks into the donation jar.  Hundreds regularly ate their Sunday morning festival breakfast with Bill.  He was a songwriter, mandolin player band leader and festival promoter.   He will be missed by so many.

Bill worked at Southern California Edison (hydro div) and Portland General Electric (Powerhouse Electrician),  He studied aircraft maintenance..... nuclear generation technology at Reedley Community College, University of Portland, Class of 1968.
Bill said of himself that he was a small town, hillbilly type ol guy who is entrenched in entrenchment. "The largest town I ever lived in was approx 2,000 people, had to leave....too many people!"
Bill Played mandolin and sang lead in this 2006 IBMA Showcase Band, "High Desert Bluegrass" and also, along with some of the same members, in another popular Arizona band known as "Trusting Heart"
