New Festival Thanks to BP Settlement!

Image634615207303370000Benita Murphy of the band Delta Reign sent us word of a brand new bluegrass festival in the gulf created from funds provided by the BP Oil Spill Settlement.

The SeaGrass Music Festival™ will take place in March on Dauphin Island, a barrier Island of Mobile, Alabama, Delta Reigns home town.  Benita informs us that Dauphin Island is the place where the last battle of the civil war took place, where Admiral Farugut uttered the famous quote, "Damn the Torpedoes, full speed ahead".  The festival is to be held in the historic Ft. Gaines on the island.

Her note included the following press release:

Spring officially kicks off on Dauphin Island when the inaugural SeaGrass Music Festival™ takes place Friday & Saturday, March 23rd-24th at  Historic  Fort  Gaines, starring Ricky Skaggs, Nashville Bluegrass Band, Sara Watkins, Three on a String, David Davis & The Warrior River Boys, Delta Reign, Harold & Ovaline Andrews and The Gum Creek Killers.
