The Grascals will join Gary Sinise, Charlie Daniels, Chris Young and Darryl Worley among others in a special free event 
March 6 in Nashville to support Lipscomb University’s Yellow Ribbon Enhancement Program as part of the launch of Daniels’ Scholarships for Heroes Tour 2012.
Daniels’ program offers eligible Post 9/11 GI Bill veterans and their family members an undergraduate degree tuition-free or a graduate degree with free or at a greatly reduced tuition rate.
"We have so many heroes whose needs fly below our radar. This shouldn’t be happening and this event is helping to make sure it doesn't,” said Daniels.
Sinise, who currently plays Detective Mac Taylor on the CBS hit show “CSI:NY,” has family members who have served in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Afghanistan and his father was in the Navy during the Korean War.
When not filming the series, he performs worldwide for troops and their families with his Lt Dan Band. Sinise was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1994 for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump.
Grascals bass player Terry Smith said, “It’s an absolute honor to do this with Charlie Daniels, who is a great artist and a great friend of The Grascals, for such a great cause. Education is expensive for everyone, and we’re happy to do anything we can for the men and women who have served America. Of course we’d do anything for Charlie,” Smith said. “All he has to do is ask."
The Grascals' new album for the Mountain Home label, Life Finds a Way, will be released March 20.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Lipscomb’s Allen Arena.
