Rhonda Vincent has written, Bluegrass Island, as a theme song for the 3rd Annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival.
The song, written especially for the event, is a tribute to the distinct entities that have garnered the OBX Bluegrass Festival national recognition, including the Island venue and BoomGrass fireworks show.
"I was honored to be asked to write a song about one of my favorite festivals. I envisioned the sights, sounds and feelings this unique setting brings to bluegrass music," said Rhonda Vincent. "The song takes the listener on a musical journey through the festival. I hope it makes everyone want to attend to experience the song first hand and I look forward to performing it live at the event in September."
In addition to a live show by Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, the four-day event will also feature performances by bluegrass standouts, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, The Lonesome River Band, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Balsam Range, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Blue Highway, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Dailey & Vincent and more!
BoomGrass is the fireworks show held during the festival from barges anchored behind the stage, over the water and choreographed to bluegrass music is the largest in the state of North Carolina.
