Unprecedented Chart Action for Niall Toner

There is a lot of excitement in the Niall Toner Camps….yes he has at least two, one in his homeland of the Blackstairs Mountains of Ireland and one here in the USA.  And both are jumping with joy today.

Niall Toner's new Pinecastle Album, Onwards and Upwards, is at Number One in today's Air Play Direct, all Genres, Top Fifty Radio Download Chart, and you can't get much higher than that !!!

Onwards and Upwards is also at number Twenty-Three in the all genres APD All-time Top Fifty Albums Chart, and at number twenty-two in today's Bluegrass/Folk Air Play Direct Album Radio Downloads Chart.

Ireland’s Niall Toner Updates Us On New Recording

Niall’s Report:

I just got back from Nashville where I was recording my first album for Pinecastle Records, which is slated for a worldwide release in September 2012. We were working at a wonderful studio called Loud, on Music Row, and the results were very satisfying indeed.
Post-production was at the Toolshed Studios in Mount Juliet, TN. 

We cut nine new songs of mine, including a tribute to the late Earl Scruggs, called 'The pride and joy of Shelby', and an instrumental I composed called 'Burren backstep'.

Other new titles include 'Million dollar bill', 'Judge and jury', and 'Bling', and the project was produced by Keith Sewell (Dixie Chicks, Lyle Lovett, Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs).

We also recut 'William Smith Monroe' and 'Tomorrow', which will be included.

Irish songwriter and performing artist, Niall Toner is #1 on the Airplay Direct Global Indicator Charts hitting the all-time record of most radio downloads on the Bluegrass/Folk chart with his own music.  Niall is also an Irish bluegrass disc jockey on Irelands Public Radio RTÉ Radio 1 and has now made some of his shows available for broadcast here in the U.S. and Canada as well as worldwide through a download delivery to broadcasters.

Irish Artist, Niall Toner, Signs with Pinecastle Records

Pinecastle Records is pleased to announce that it has signed Irish bluegrass artist, Niall Toner, to its roster. Niall will soon release a new single in his native Ireland, a song called "Tomorrow," taken from his upcoming Pinecastle release. This will be a new album of original material, due in the fall of 2012, in conjunction with a U.S. tour. Niall's most recent release in the U.S. was The Sounds of the Blackstairs Mountains, featuring his tribute to the father of bluegrass, "William Smith Monroe," which is still receiving extensive airplay on bluegrass radio.

"I am thrilled and delighted to be the first Irish artist signed to Pinecastle Records. It's a dream come true for me, and an honour to be part of a label roster that includes many of my own musical heroes, like Jesse McReynolds and the Osborne Brothers.

2^nd with Mark Newton's Stillhouse Band and The Moore Brothers.

The concert series continues on Friday October 7^th with Niall Toner (from Ireland) and Asheville NC area band Bobby and the Bluegrass Tradition. On October 15^th, the series presents Grasstowne and Cumberland River.

The Niall Toner Band is an Irish bluegrass band from the Blackstairs Mountain region of Ireland.

 The Band was founded by Niall Toner in March, 2001, with Clem O'Brien and Dick Gladney. The Trio performs a set of all-original songs and instrumentals, and their unique sound is a rich blend of Traditional Acoustic Country Music and Bluegrass, with a distinctive Celtic twist. The Band perform live on a regular basis at Festivals, Venues and Arts Centres in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA.
